Welcome!

I want to start by saying “Thanks” for stopping by and seeing what has been going on in my life, family, ministry and marriage.  Each one has its degree of blessings & challenges and I love them all! My hope is that this site offers a glimpse into each one of those aspects.

The title “Declaring Dependence” is referring to the act of declaring your dependence on God.  It’s about choosing to let God set the guard-rails on our path during this life.  Choosing to trust Jesus- the only person God entrusted to take our sins- to guide us along this messy, rocky, neglected path in this world full of God’s beauty and direct us where we all ultimately want to be- in Heaven with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Much of this blog will be about my adventure as I am transitioning to Full-Time Staff with Christian Challenge Salina.  My hope is that this site (in addition to regular newsletters) can be a way to constantly keep in touch with our financial & prayer partners in ministry from near and far.

On a different yet slightly related note, I must warn you that this will not be strictly spiritual- it will be about all aspects of my life.  Of course, I do want it to be obvious that Jesus is the major motivator in my life, but I would be fooling no one if I tried to portray only that aspect of my life.  I definitely have my portion of highs and lows to deal with every day.  My hobbies, interests & priorities have changed quite a bit in the last 3 years but they are still things I find interesting and hope you will too.

Click “Blog” to see what’s been the latest scuttlebutt.  Click the other buttons for categorized listings.  Last but definitely not least, check out “How You Can Help” to see the different ways you can ensure we can continue to work alongside God in the colleges & universities of Salina, KS.
